Website, and Organic Growth Case Study: Bordeaux Vineyard

Website Design, and Organic Growth for Château Méaume

The challenge:

  • A tired, fragile WordPress site that was hard to update and did not reflect the estate’s character.

  • No clear customer journey between the main site and the online wine shop, which caused friction when people tried to buy.

  • Limited visibility in organic search for Bordeaux vineyard stays and for buying Méaume wine direct from the château.

  • A newly restored eighteenth‑century farmhouse to fill, with no clear funnels from content into enquiries and bookings.

Château Méaume came to Market Jar specifically because of our wine background and our experience working with family estates, rather than generic travel or web projects. They wanted someone who understood how a vineyard stay turns into a long‑term wine customer.

The results

Timeframe: 1st January to 26th August 2026

  • Organic is now the largest source of traffic by a wide margin. Just under half of all sessions come from organic search across the year to date. Look only at the period since 10 June and organic is 58.4% of all sessions, more than double direct traffic.

  • Every tracked enquiry came through organic search. All seven booking and enquiry events recorded this year started with someone finding the estate in search. Not email. Not social. Not referrals.

  • Demand is growing, not just holding. Search impressions went from 2,365 in February to 5,858 in July. Clicks went from 90 to 310 over the same months. More people are looking, and more of them are arriving.

  • The right pages are doing the work. The homepage, the About page, the Bordeaux Holiday Accommodation page, the Classic Car Rally page and the Château DIY feature take the bulk of organic arrivals. These are the pages that lead to a booking or a case of wine.

  • The right people, from the right places. The UK accounts for 47% of organic visitors and France 22%, led by London, Bath and Paris. Two thirds of organic sessions are engaged, with an average of 2 minutes 11 seconds on site.

The estate is no longer relying on people already knowing the name. Organic search is now the channel that fills the farmhouse calendar and puts wine orders in front of buyers.
