The Client
Château Méaume is a family-run estate in Bordeaux, offering wine, farmhouse stays and experiences that give guests a more personal way to discover the region.
The estate had a lot to offer. But too much of its growth depended on people already knowing the name or finding it through existing relationships.
The opportunity was to make the château easier to find for people planning a Bordeaux stay, looking for vineyard accommodation or searching for a more distinctive wine experience.
The Challenge
The château needed a stronger route to new guests and wine buyers.
Potential visitors were already searching for Bordeaux vineyard stays, accommodation, wine experiences and the things to do around the estate. But the website was not yet visible enough for the searches that matter commercially.
The site also needed clearer routes between the content people discover in search and the actions that support the business: booking the farmhouse, planning a visit and buying wine.
The goal was not a bigger traffic report. It was to create a source of demand that turns into actual enquiries and bookings.

What results did we achieve?
Organic search is now the estate’s largest traffic source.
From 1 January to 26 August 2026, organic search delivered 1,266 of 2,574 total sessions. That is 49.2% of all website traffic. Since 10 June, organic search has accounted for 58.4% of all sessions, more than double direct traffic.
Every recorded booking and enquiry event this year came from organic search. All seven of them started with someone finding Château Méaume through search.
Search demand is also growing. Monthly Google impressions rose from 2,365 in February to 5,858 in July. Monthly clicks rose from 90 to 310 across the same period.
The estate is no longer relying only on people who already know the name. Organic search is now bringing in people planning a stay, discovering the wines and deciding where to book in Bordeaux.
Nothing leaves Market Jar unless it earns its place.

The Mechanism
We built the site around the reasons a potential guest would search.
That meant strengthening pages for farmhouse stays, Bordeaux accommodation, wine and the experiences that make the estate distinctive. It also meant publishing useful travel and regional content that can introduce the château to people earlier in their planning process.
The pages doing the most work now include the homepage, About page, Bordeaux holiday accommodation page, classic-car rally page and the Château DIY feature. These are the routes that bring people into the business and give them a reason to explore further.
The estate is attracting the right audience too. The UK accounts for 47% of organic visitors, France 22%, with London, Bath and Paris among the leading cities. Two-thirds of organic sessions are engaged, with an average engagement time of 2 minutes 11 seconds.
The result is a stronger route from a search for a Bordeaux experience to a stay, enquiry or wine order.
