The Client

Nkiti Clothing is a London-based fashion brand selling African clothing to customers looking for something more distinctive than high-street fashion.

The brand had strong products and a clear identity. But the website was not bringing enough new people into the business, and too few visitors were turning into customers once they arrived.

Nkiti needed a more reliable way to reach people who were already looking for African fashion, then give them a clear reason to explore and buy.

The Challenge

The business had a visibility problem and a conversion problem.

Nkiti was not appearing often enough in the searches that introduced new customers to the brand. Its blog also was not doing enough to bring relevant people in before they were ready to buy.

The site needed to attract more potential customers, make the product range easier to discover and turn more of that interest into orders.

The aim was not more visitors for the sake of it. It was a stronger flow of new customers and a better return from the traffic already reaching the store.

What results did we achieve?

Within nine months, 85% of visitors were new to Nkiti.

Organic search became the highest-converting source of revenue for the business, with the conversion rate doubling compared with where it started.

The work helped Nkiti appear in front of people searching for African clothing and related styles, creating a route into the business for customers who had not heard of the brand before.

This was not about making a fashion website busier. It was about making the business easier to find, easier to explore and more likely to turn attention into sales.

Nothing leaves Market Jar unless it earns its place.

The Mechanism

We built visibility around what potential customers were already looking for.

That meant improving the Shopify store so its products, collections and key pages had a clearer role in bringing people through from search. We then created useful content around African fashion, styling and the questions people ask before buying.

The content brought in new audiences earlier in the buying decision. The store gave them clear routes into relevant products and collections.

Regular improvements to page structure, content and the buying experience helped make organic traffic more valuable over time.

The result was a better customer acquisition route for Nkiti: more new people finding the brand, more relevant visitors exploring the range and more of that demand turning into revenue.
