The Client
The English Vine sells English wine directly to consumers online.
The business had previously relied on traditional wholesale channels and local outreach. But it saw the opportunity to build a stronger direct-to-customer route, reaching people who were already interested in English wine but had not yet found the brand.
The challenge was to make the business easier to find, easier to trust and easier to buy from online.
The Challenge
The English Vine needed more than higher visibility.
It needed to attract people with a real reason to buy English wine, then turn their interest into orders. The website had to work harder as a sales route, not just as an online catalogue.
The business also needed a clearer view of where demand existed: what people were searching for, how competitive those searches were and which pages could bring potential customers closer to a purchase.
The aim was simple: create a stronger flow of new direct-to-consumer customers.

What results did we achieve?
In under three months, new customer orders increased by 1,110%, rising from three to 36.
Organic revenue increased from £6,778 to £19,013. Bounce rate fell by 4%, suggesting that visitors were finding the site more relevant and easier to use.
The business moved from relying largely on existing relationships and wholesale routes to building a more dependable direct-to-consumer customer base.
The important change was not just more people arriving. More of the right people found The English Vine, stayed long enough to explore and chose to buy.
Nothing leaves Market Jar unless it earns its place.

The Mechanism
We built the route between search demand and an English wine order.
First, we identified the terms potential customers were using, balancing demand, buying intent and the level of competition. We then improved the pages that could best meet that demand, including product, collection and supporting content pages.
We also strengthened the technical foundations of the site: page structure, on-page information, local relevance and site performance. This made it easier for search engines to understand the business and easier for customers to find what they wanted.
The work was focused on building direct demand, not just chasing rankings.
More relevant people found the brand. The website gave them a clearer reason to buy. New customer orders followed.
